About Placement Linkage Internship
In 2024, there has been a notable shift in the fresher hiring landscape, with industries increasingly seeking candidates with 4-6 months of internship experience to ensure they are job-ready upon recruitment. In response to this industry demand, the Training and Placement (T&P) Cell proposes the introduction of a 6-month Placement Linked Internship (PLI) during the 8th Semester (January to June 2024). This initiative aims to align students with industry expectations by providing them with practical training and upskilling opportunities.
The curriculum for the 8th Semester mandates students to accumulate 26 credits through academic sessions. With the implementation of PLI, students will engage in a structured classroom approach, completing academic requirements via self-study. They will have access to online resources and optional doubt-solving sessions tailored to their needs. Coordination between faculty members and students will ensure the smooth conduct of academic activities.
Furthermore, students are required to fulfill academic compliance in accordance with institute guidelines outlined in the 8th semester academic calendar. Evaluation and assessment of student performance will be conducted as per established protocols to maintain academic standards.
This integrated approach seeks to enhance students' readiness for employment by combining practical industry exposure with rigorous academic preparation, thereby bridging the gap between educational outcomes and industry expectations.
Outcome
More than 50 companies actively recruited our students, offering internship opportunities. A total of 178 students were successfully placed through the PLI Programme in various companies, receiving stipends ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 75,000 per month.
